
There has been a ₹14 increase in crude oil futures, with natural gas and mentha oil also rising. In commodity futures, a turnover of ₹9739.14 crore was recorded, while commodity options saw a notional turnover of ₹42819.06 crore. In gold and silver futures, the turnover was ₹6581.39 crore, and the bullion index BulDex futures reached 20403 points.
On MCX, India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, the total turnover across various commodity futures, options, and index futures amounted to ₹52558.31 crore. Of this, ₹9739.14 crore came from commodity futures, and ₹42819.06 crore was the notional turnover in commodity options. The total premium turnover in commodity options was ₹613.34 crore.
In precious metals, the gold and silver futures registered ₹6581.39 crore in turnover. MCX gold April futures opened at ₹85200 per 10 grams, with a high of ₹85567 and a low of ₹85200, trading at ₹85473, up ₹418 from the previous close of ₹85055. Gold-Guinea February futures rose ₹293 to ₹69058 per 8 grams, while Gold-Petal February futures increased ₹52 to ₹8626 per gram. Gold-Mini March futures climbed ₹420 to ₹85179 per 10 grams.
In silver futures, the March contract opened at ₹95741 per kg, hitting a high of ₹96211 and a low of ₹95680, and was trading at ₹95992, up ₹412 from the previous close of ₹95580. Silver-Mini February futures increased by ₹404 to ₹95810 per kg, while Silver-Micro February futures rose ₹405 to ₹95785.
In base metals, a turnover of ₹1085.02 crore was recorded. Copper February futures fell 65 paise to ₹864.15 per kg, while zinc February futures rose ₹1.3 to ₹269.55. Aluminum February futures increased by 95 paise to ₹259.35, and lead February futures rose by 45 paise to ₹179.9.
In the energy segment, a turnover of ₹2067.84 crore was recorded. MCX crude oil February futures opened at ₹6224 per barrel, with a high of ₹6272 and a low of ₹6208, trading at ₹6212, up ₹14 from the previous close of ₹6198. Crude oil-mini February futures increased ₹17 to ₹6215. Natural gas February futures rose by 90 paise to ₹313.2 per MMBtu, while natural gas-mini February futures also rose by 90 paise to ₹313.2.
